CFD responds to brush fire on Lookout Mountain after multiple 911 calls reported a fire in the woods
Chattanooga, TN – Several agencies, including the Chattanooga Fire Department, worked together on December 7, 2024, to combat a brush fire on Lookout Mountain.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 6:46 a.m. to the 700 block of South Scenic Highway after multiple 911 calls reported a fire in the woods.
Firefighters faced challenges accessing the burning area, relying on brush trucks, utility terrain vehicles (UTVs), and drones to manage the fire and assess its extent.
Agencies involved included Tennessee Forestry, Chattanooga Fire Department, Lookout Mountain Fire Department, Chattanooga Police, and Hamilton County EMS.
Crews utilized various trails to extinguish the flames, and as of now, there are no reported injuries or threats to nearby structures. Responding units included Squad 1, Engine 1, Ladder 1, Engine 14, Squad 20, Engine 3, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, and CFD Special Operations.
Efforts to control the fire remain ongoing.
