Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Police Chief John Chambers joined community leaders for the One Community, One Mission Violence Summit, where discussions focused on addressing violence and strengthening community relationships.

Chief Chambers emphasized the importance of empathy and understanding in building public trust, stating, “It’s my responsibility to ensure that if we are going to build trust, then we have to be operating from a place of empathy, from a place of understanding, from a place of partnership with an emphasis on building real relationships.”

The event featured a panel discussion that brought forward thoughtful dialogue on reducing violence and fostering collaboration across the city.

While gun violence in Chattanooga has declined, Chief Chambers noted that continued efforts are needed to maintain progress and further improve community safety.
