Los Angeles, CA – According to the court documents, the 38-year-old dad, later identified as Kevln, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after he reportedly kiIIed his child last year. Prosecutors claim the defendant beat the baby to death. The medical examiner told authorities that the baby, AIya, suffered 3 skuII fractures, eight blunt force impacts to her face and multiple brain bIeeds as a result of the beatings at the hand of her father.
The father was sentenced after pleading guilty to first-degree murder and an infIiction of t0rture, court records say. The investigation process began last year in June after officers responded to a report of a seriously injured baby. The responding officers discovered that the child suffered severe injuries and rushed the baby to the hospital. The baby was pronounced dead the following day.
During the investigation process, authorities reportedly found video which shows the beating. During an interview with investigators, the father reportedly described multiple beatings of his baby daughter. In describing the final fatal beating, prosecutors say the parent reportedly told them he beat the Iiving dayIights out of his baby.
During an interview with investigators or during the sentencing hearing, the father never cried or showed any emotion, court records say. District Attorney Kasie reportedly said:“The pain that this case caused for everyone who touched it and the family that continues to mourn the life of this sweet, innocent infant, simply pales in comparison to the pain that Alya herself experienced. She was so tiny, so frail and defenseless. She couldn’t fight back or even tell anyone that she was in pain. It’s incomprehensible.”
