Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, Tennessee Attorney General Skrmetti released a statement celebrating a federal judge’s decision to block the Biden Administration’s attempt to revise Title IX language, describing it as a significant victory for the Constitution and the people of Tennessee.

“This is a big win for the Constitution and the people of Tennessee. We fought hard to protect our constitutional separation of powers, which ensures that the people, through their elected representatives, are the only authority that can make new laws,” Skrmetti stated.

The blocked rule, which was set to go into effect on August 1, would have mandated Tennessee schools and universities to allow boys into girls’ locker rooms and other private spaces.

Additionally, it would have required schools to penalize teachers and students who refused to use someone’s preferred pronouns.

“These are profound changes to the law that the American people never agreed to. This rule was a huge overreach by federal bureaucrats, and the Court was right to stop it,” Skrmetti concluded.
