The newly added parks with adult-sized changing tables include:

– Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park
– Red Clay State Historic Park

Previously announced parks with adult-sized changing stations are:

– Fall Creek Falls State Park

The new tables provide increased accessibility for visitors with disabilities, as well as for children and teens, making activities such as toileting more convenient and dignified. The tables feature an adjustable height system, with a range from 12 inches to 39.5 inches, allowing caregivers to assist with ease.

Funding for the changing tables at Johnsonville State Historic Park and Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park came from the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) North Region, and state appropriations. The table at Red Clay State Historic Park was funded by TVA East Region and state appropriations, while the Montgomery Bell State Park table was funded solely through state appropriations.

These installations aim to provide a more inclusive experience for visitors, making it easier for people with disabilities to enjoy Tennessee’s state parks.
