Tennessee State Parks will join First Lady Maria Lee’s Tennessee Serves initiative from Sept. 19-29, hosting volunteer events at parks statewide
Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, these events will align with National Public Lands Day on Sept. 28, offering opportunities for Tennesseans to contribute to conservation efforts.
First Lady Lee invited residents to support her mission to enhance the state through service, with September’s challenge focused on Tennessee State Parks.
In-person, she will assist with park projects at Roan Mountain State Park on Sept. 19 and Johnsonville State Historic Park on Sept. 26.
At Roan Mountain, volunteers will restore a native garden and remove invasive plants, while Johnsonville participants will help clean the shores of Trace Creek.
Similar activities, including trail work, garbage collection, and invasive species removal, are planned at various parks across the state.
