CPD arrested 26-year-old man in connection with the Fourth Avenue shooting which left a 30-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries
Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, following the attack, multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene, and video evidence was collected. CPD’s Gun Team was assigned to the case, working to identify the suspect and gather information.
After reviewing the video footage, investigators identified a suspect vehicle and sent the description to CPD officers.
The vehicle was later located, and further evidence was collected, ultimately linking Davis to the crime.
After a thorough investigation, the Gun Team Detective presented the case to a Hamilton County Grand Jury. The Grand Jury returned a true bill, charging 26-year-old Victor Davis with three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and firearm charges.
Davis was apprehended and taken to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center, where he faces the outstanding indictments. CPD credited the arrest to the collaborative efforts of several investigative units within the department.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with authorities reminding the public that the information remains preliminary and subject to change as the case progresses.
