Chattanooga, TN – On the evening of April 1, 2025, a kitchen fire severely damaged a home in Hixson, Tennessee.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the incident at 9:05 PM in the 2100 block of Crescent Club Drive. Due to concerns about potential entrapment, a second alarm was quickly called.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke emanating from the front of the house and heavier smoke coming from the rear. Lighter smoke was visible coming from the eaves of the home.

Crews immediately entered through the front door to begin a search and to combat the flames in the kitchen area. Fortunately, no one was found inside the home.

Firefighters worked swiftly to gain control of the fire, which was contained by 9:21 PM and fully extinguished by 9:30 PM.

The department used fans to clear the smoke and conducted further checks to ensure there was no extension of the fire in the ceilings.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Chattanooga Fire Department officials.

The following units responded to the scene: Squad 19, Ladder 19, Engine 16, Engine 11, Engine 6, Battalion 2, and Battalion 3, with support from CFD Investigations, EPB, EMS, and the Chattanooga Police Department.
