Chattanooga Fire Department honors Deputy Fire Marshal on retirement after 27 years of service
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Fire Department recognized Deputy Fire Marshal Michael Wright on his retirement following 27 years of dedicated service.
In his role, Wright was responsible for approving life safety measures for all city development projects.
He worked closely with developers, city planners, architects, and engineers, building strong relationships and representing the department with expertise. He also assisted with daily oversight of fire code inspections.
Wright’s family has contributed nearly 70 years of service to the department, creating a lasting legacy within the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Fire Chief Terry Knowles expressed appreciation for Wright’s contributions, saying, “Thank you from the fire department. Thank you from the city and the citizens that you’ve served all these years. You’ve been a leader, mentor, and friend who will be deeply missed. We all wish you the very best.”
