Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Fire Department’s command staff and administrative personnel worked alongside members of the Mayor’s Office on Wednesday to pack toys for 128 children at the Forgotten Child Fund’s headquarters.

The effort marked a significant contribution as the organization moved into the final stretch of its holiday season.

According to the Forgotten Child Fund, the number of families seeking assistance has increased this year, creating shortages in several age groups.

The organization reported a particular need for gifts appropriate for children ages 12 to 15, a range that often receives fewer donations.

The organization also noted that they are running low on crayons and dolls designed to represent African American and Hispanic children.

Donation boxes for the Forgotten Child Fund are available at all Chattanooga Fire Department facilities for anyone who is able to contribute.
