Chattanooga, TN – A Chattanooga police officer is being recognized for a simple but meaningful interaction that made a positive impact on a local family.

According to the Chattanooga Police Department, Officer Odenthal stopped while on patrol to visit a young entrepreneur who had set up a small stand in front of his home to sell rocks. The officer purchased one of the rocks, taking a moment to encourage the child’s effort.

The boy’s mother later shared her appreciation with the department, saying the gesture meant a great deal to her family and made her son’s day. She thanked Officer Odenthal for taking the time to stop and also expressed gratitude to the department for its service to the community.
