Chattanooga, TN – Throughout the summer, Chattanooga Police Department officers addressed over 800 traffic violations in the downtown area.

Violations included speeding, aggressive driving, loud exhausts, seatbelt infractions, and distracted driving.

Officers also conducted several proactive operations targeting downtown street racing. On the Market Street Bridge alone, 369 violations were recorded.

The extended enforcement effort was supported by a Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) grant, with additional assistance provided by Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers.

Officials credited the collaboration with helping maintain safer streets in the downtown area.
