Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department arrested an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old in connection with a shooting on August 28, 2025, in the 2800 block of Market Street.

Officers responded at 8:56 a.m. to reports of a person shot and found a wrecked vehicle with two males walking away from it. Shortly afterward, a 15-year-old girl arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators determined the suspects had been in the wrecked vehicle and fired at another vehicle, in which the teenage girl was a passenger. The driver of that vehicle, a 38-year-old woman, was not injured.

Both suspects face two counts of attempted first-degree murder. One is being held at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center, while the juvenile suspect is in custody at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to contact Chattanooga Police at 423-698-2525.

Authorities noted that the charges are accusations and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
