Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga police responded to a shooting call on February 13, 2025, at 12:04 p.m. at a gas station located in the 4700 block of Brainerd Road.

Upon arrival, officers found two men with gunshot wounds—one, a 28-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, and the other, a 27-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers began life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived on the scene.

Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS transported both men to a local hospital. The 28-year-old man later succumbed to his injuries.

The Chattanooga Police Department’s Homicide Unit initiated an investigation, while the Crime Scene Unit processed the crime scene. Preliminary details suggest the shooter was inside the store when three men entered and a verbal altercation occurred.

The shooter stayed on the scene and awaited police. CPD is investigating a self-defense claim made by the shooter and is consulting with the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office.
