Tennessee – Radnor Lake State Park has temporarily closed pedestrian access to the South Lake and South Cove trails on the west end of the park as part of an ongoing repair project on Otter Creek Road.

The closure is a safety precaution following recent inspections that revealed structural damage to this section of the road.

Park crews are actively working to stabilize and repair the road, which was undermined by flooding during the historic 2010 event.

To protect visitors, employees, and construction workers, the affected trails will remain accessible only from the eastern entrance until the project is completed.

“Safety is our highest priority,” said Park Manager Steve Ward. “We have been advised to close this part of the park during repairs, and we have promptly done so. We regret the inconvenience and ask for patience from the public.

We want visitors to have the best park experience possible when the entire road project is completed.”

The state-funded capital improvement project aims to improve overall road stability and accessibility. Upon completion, new wood guardrails will be installed along the lake side of Otter Creek Road, enhancing safety and wheelchair access.

Work is expected to continue through October 2025. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternative access points during this period.
