Knox County, TN – According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on E. Raccoon Valley Drive.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers and Knox County Sherriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that the vehicle was travelling east on E. Raccoon Valley Drive when it entered a curve, ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and went airborne.
The 31-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Troopers said that the 6-year-old that died in the crash was not using any child restraint device at the time.
Charges are pending for the driver, THP says.
