Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration’s Office of Evidence and Impact (OEI) has unveiled an updated dashboard designed to provide enhanced insights into the educational achievement and employment outcomes of Tennessee students.

The Education to Employment dashboard aggregates student outcome data alongside employment statistics sourced from Tennessee’s enterprise data analytics platform, TN DATA (Data Analytics for Transparency and Accountability). It offers detailed information on high school and postsecondary graduates by instructional program area, tracking their wages one to five years following graduation.

“This updated dashboard represents the hard work of OEI and multiple state departments to provide even better insights into our state’s educational outcomes,” said Department of Finance and Administration Commissioner Jim Bryson. “It underscores our commitment to transparency and equips the public and stakeholders with valuable data on how Tennessee graduates are succeeding in the workforce.”

The dashboard draws on data contributed by various state agencies, including the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association, Tennessee Department of Education, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Key updates to the dashboard include:

  • Simplified and streamlined presentation of education and employment outcomes

  • Updated data reflecting graduation cohorts from 2018 through 2022

  • Inclusion of all awards received by graduates, rather than only their highest award

  • Consolidated education award level categories for clearer visualization and greater detail

  • Inflation-adjusted wage data to improve comparability over time

  • New visualizations showing employment outcomes by major field, award level, and years after graduation

The improvements aim to assist policymakers, educators, and the public in better understanding how Tennessee’s education system prepares students for the workforce, facilitating more informed decisions to support future generations.
