Tennessee – Drivers on Interstate 75 in McMinn County should prepare for temporary traffic delays due to utility work scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025.

From 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Eastern Time, contract crews will conduct rolling roadblocks in both directions of I-75. Southbound traffic will be affected beginning at Exit 60 (Sweetwater/Spring City), while northbound traffic will be impacted starting at Exit 52 (John Duncan Parkway). The work zone will cover mile markers 60 to 52.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation advised motorists to use caution when traveling through the area and to expect possible delays.

The project is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen issues. Uniformed police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

TDOT reminded drivers to check the SmartWay Map or call 511 for the latest travel updates and to avoid distractions while driving.

Officials also emphasized Tennessee’s Move Over Law, which carries penalties of up to 30 days in jail and fines of up to $500 for violations.
