Chattanooga, TN – According to the statement, significant water main break caused the closure of key sections at a downtown intersection in Chattanooga.
As a result, the following areas were closed:
– Southbound Market Street
– Westbound MLK Jr Blvd
– Sidewalk access at the northwest corner of the intersection
Chattanooga Public Works crews, along with officers from the Chattanooga Police Department, were on the scene. Tennessee American Water crews were en route to shut off the necessary valve and begin repairs.
Further closures were expected as the situation developed. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes to prevent delays.
