According to the police officials, the 38-year-old suspect, later identified as Lauren, was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder and cruelty to animals after she reportedly stabbed 59-year-old Tod and his pet.
Last month, deputies responded to the victim’s home after the 38-year-old woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that drugs were used in the residence before she stabbed someone. The responding deputies reportedly found the 59-year-old victim unresponsive. Per reports, the elderly man suffered severe stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after the gruesome discovery, the responding deputies also found the owner’s pet – also stabbed to death. During the investigation process, authorities revealed that the 38-year-old woman called 911 and reportedly told the dispatcher that ‘they’ used drugs, also mentioned fentanyl, at the residence before she stabbed an individual. The victim also suffered a blunt force trauma to the head.
During an interview with investigators, the 38-year-old woman reportedly said that the 59-year-old victim tried to perform indecent acts with her. The woman then stabbed him before stabbing his pet. The medical examiner told investigators that the victim was reportedly dead for several days.
