Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, during the session, which will start at 9 a.m., a new video titled “Safe Boating Near Locks and Dams” will be presented.
This video, produced by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) in collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Hardin County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), aims to enhance public awareness of boating safety in critical areas.
The meeting will also feature recognitions for significant contributions to wildlife conservation. Retired TWRA Wildlife and Forestry employee Mark Gudlin will be honored for his induction into the National Bobwhite and Grasslands Initiative Hall of Fame. Gudlin, who retired in 2021 after a distinguished 38-year career, was notably serving as Habitat Program Manager at the time of his retirement.
Additionally, Will Bowling from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will be acknowledged for a generous $300,000 donation from the Foundation and the Mildred T. Edwards Trust. This substantial gift will support the acquisition of a 1,322-acre tract at the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.
The meeting will also include a preview of upcoming changes to rules and regulations regarding licenses, permit fees, and boating certificates.
