TDOT teamed up with Taylor Elementary School for the region’s second annual “paint-the-plow” event, combining creative expression with winter weather education
Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, elementary students at Taylor Elementary spent two weeks designing and painting a TDOT snowplow, focusing on this year’s theme, “Work with Us – Move Over, Slow Down.”
The mural, crafted by the young artists, features the school’s mascot dressed as a construction worker holding a stop sign, alongside an orange caution cone.
The words “Taylor Tigers & TDOT say: Watch Out, Move Over, Slow Down” are painted in bold black lettering across the plow, promoting safety awareness.
The mural unveiling took place in the school parking lot, where students proudly displayed their creation to classmates, teachers, and TDOT representatives.
After the ceremony, the students attended a winter weather forecasting session led by Local 3 News Meteorologist Clay Smith, who shared insights into the challenges of predicting and preparing for winter conditions.
