Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Police arrested 37-year-old Robert Komar in connection with a shooting that occurred on the morning of November 22, 2024, in the 5900 block of Winding Lane.

Officers responded to a call at 7:33 a.m. reporting a person had been shot. Upon arrival, they found a 38-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS also arrived on the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Chattanooga Police Department’s Homicide Unit launched an investigation, while the Crime Scene Unit processed evidence at the scene. According to the preliminary findings, the victim had been walking to work when a silver Jeep Cherokee pulled up, and the driver shot him. The victim recognized the shooter as Robert Komar, whom he had been involved in a physical altercation with the day before.

Authorities quickly disseminated information about the suspect and his vehicle to CPD officers and nearby law enforcement agencies. Later that day, at approximately 1:52 p.m., a Chattanooga Police officer spotted Komar driving the silver Jeep Cherokee. Officers initiated a traffic stop, detaining Komar without incident.

The investigation led to arrest warrants charging Komar with Attempted First Degree Murder. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center following his arrest.
