Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire & Life Safety Educator, Senior Firefighter Allen Green, has authored a new children’s book, titled *”Mom! Dad! What Should I Do?”* The book aims to teach children essential fire safety practices, such as creating a fire escape plan, practicing it with family members, having a safe meeting place outside, and the importance of smoke detectors.

Green, who educates the public daily through school visits, business presentations, and community meetings, wrote the book to supplement his educational efforts, especially in neighborhoods with high fire risks. With engaging illustrations and relatable characters representing Chattanooga’s youth, the book is designed to spark safety discussions in households and schools, ultimately saving lives through awareness and safe practices.

The book will be available on Amazon starting January 20, 2025. Before the release, Green will host a book signing event at the Chattanooga Public Library Eastgate location (5705 Marlin Road) on January 18 from 2 PM to 4:30 PM. The event will feature a special reading of the book, opportunities for photos with Sparky the Fire Safety Dog, and interactions with Chattanooga firefighters.

All proceeds from the book will benefit Green’s nonprofit, PPCH, Inc. (Pain, Perseverance, Character, Hope). The organization provides mentorship to at-risk youth, empowering them with hope, education, and motivation despite traumatic experiences.
