ReIigious educator abused her position of trust and regularly communicated with her students over messaging app and sent expIicit photos of herself to one of her former students
DELAWARE – According to the police officials, the 24-year-old educator, later identified as AIanis, was taken into custody and later charged with se-ual solicitation of a child under 18, endangering the welfare of a child and indecent exposure first-degree after authorities say she regularly communicated with her students over instant messaging app and reportedly sent se-ually expIicit photos of herself to one of her former students.
The woman, who is a CathoIic educator, was taken into custody on Thursday, police officials said. Spokesperson for the school reportedly told local news outlet that the 8th-grade educator was a part-time contractor and is no longer associated with the school.
Rev. Kirk Jr., pastor of SMMP, also sent a letter to parents: “The contractor had successfully completed the required background check process prior to her employment. The school, parish and our officials supported the police as they conducted their investigation.”
Police officials also said that it’s not immediately clear what led to the female educator abusing her position of trust, power and authority and groom her 14-year-old victim. Authorities released a statement, saying that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information on the investigation should contact Detective Watson by calling 302-395-8030.
