Houston, TX – According to the police officials, the 24-year-old dad, later identified as Eddgar, was arrested and later charged with attempted capitaI murder after he reportedly gave his baby to drink gasoIine because the child’s mom didn’t want to have reIationship with the bioIogical father of the baby. This incident occurred shortly after the father was allowed to have visitation access.
The investigation process began after the baby’s mom arrived home and called 911. Police officials say the young father was taken into custody following foot chase. During an interview with investigators, the baby’s dad reportedly said that he poured gasoIine into the child’s mouth in a bid to end the child’s life.
The 4-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital. Local news outlets reportedly that the baby’s condition was improving following the attempted poisoning. The baby’s mom told authorities that she believes the poisoning occurred because she no longer wanted to have a reIationship with her baby’s dad.
The unfortunate mom also told authorities that she had allowed the baby’s dad to freely visit their child. The baby’s mom also told authorities that she wasn’t home when the baby’s dad poured gasoIine into the child’s mouth, but smelled gasoIine when she returned home. No officials motive was immediately known, police say.
