Girlfriend, who became jealous when one of her partner’s clients arrived at their home and later tricked him into coming to a field where she nearly fatally shot him, was released from jail, and the victim now fears for his safety
Houston, TX – E. Munnoz, a 23-year-old Texas man, has expressed deep fear for his safety after his now-ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old A. Pinnto, was released on bond despite allegedly shooting him several times, leaving him seriously injured. The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack, and according to his family, he has since undergone several surgeries, including a critical procedure to remove a bullet from his chest, which took place on the same day Alexys was bailed out of jail. Elvis is currently recovering from the injuries he sustained, but the ordeal has left him fearful for his life, especially given the recent developments in the case.
The shooting occurred in September, and despite the severity of the attack, Alexys was granted bond last week. Court records reveal that her initial bail was set at $75,000, but only two months after her arrest, a Houston court lowered it to $10,000. Alexys posted the reduced bail amount and was released from jail, sparking concern from the victim, who is now recovering from his wounds. In September, Alexys was arrested for the shooting and charged with aggravated assault. According to Elvis, Alexys lured him to a secluded area, where she pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times. He was shot in both hands, his stomach, and his chest. Elvis believes the shooting occurred during a jealous outburst, explaining that Alexys was known to be jealous, controlling, and isolating him from his family and friends.
Elvis shared that just one day before the shooting, a female client had arrived at the residence he shared with Alexys, which reportedly triggered her anger. During a confrontation, Alexys attempted to hit him, but he managed to grab her hands and asked her to calm down. The victim explained that during this confrontation, Alexys became suspicious, asking why he had touched the female client, only to quickly change the subject. The defendant became upset with her boyfriend, a mechanic, after one of his clients arrived at their residence with a car for him to work on, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Houston Police Department. When the victim explained the nature of his work, his girlfriend reportedly became increasingly enraged, attempting to strike him and even kicking one of their dogs in the process.
The victim intervened by grabbing her wrists and attempting to calm her down, authorities say. However, his efforts were short-lived as she allegedly demanded to know why he had touched her. In an abrupt shift in demeanor, she then asked him if he remembered a particular place where they had once enjoyed watching the sunset together. Later that day, Alexys reportedly instructed Elvis to meet her at a secluded location the following day to “enjoy the weather.” The next day, she allegedly shot him multiple times, nearly killing him. Although Elvis was seriously injured, he survived the attack, and now, with her release, he has condemned the court’s decision to allow her back into the community.
According to Elvis, after shooting him in the chest and stomach, Alexys fired a shot directly at his head. He was able to block the shot with his hands, though he was lying on the ground, gravely injured. Despite his dire situation, he reportedly told Alexys that he loved her and pleaded with her to help him. In a state of shock, Alexys apologized repeatedly, according to court documents, saying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that, I didn’t shoot you in the right places!” Afterward, she managed to get him to a nearby gas station where they called 911 for help. As part of her bail conditions, Alexys is prohibited from being near Elvis or his family. She is also required to wear an ankle monitor while awaiting further legal proceedings.
