Man was heard saying he ‘had been anxious to pull that trigger all day’ right after he shot grocery store customer in the head for refusing to give him a ride and took his friend’s life; convicted
Virginia Beach, VA – According to the court documents, the 22-year-old defendant, later identified as Jordam, was found guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated maIicious wounding, and is now facing life behind bars after he reportedly killed his friend two years ago and shot another random person in the head, leaving him bIind. The young man was convicted yesterday and will be sentenced in November, court records say.
The investigation process began in January 2022 after the 911 called told the dispatcher about shots fired at a bus stop. The responding officers discovered that the defendant shot and killed his 18-year-old friend, Kebren, following a fight over shoes and phone. When the young men’s fight was over, the defendant pulled out his gun and killed his friend.
The defendant then fled on foot and walked into a grocery store where he asked a customer to give him a ride. When the unidentified victim refused, the defendant shot him in the head. The victim lost the eye where he was shot, prosecutors say. The defendant was taken into custody at the parking lot. The murder weapon was in his possession, court records say.
While he was being arrested, the young man reportedly said that he ‘was anxious to cIick his gun all day and has finaIIy killed somebody and’. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the victim allowed his friend to stay at his house, but was kicked out when the victim’s dad discovered that he had a weapon. The defendant’s attorney argued that their client acted in self-defense, court records say.
