Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire Department is investigating a fire at an abandoned house on N Hawthorne Street.
On January 11, 2025, at 12:56 PM, Green Shift crews responded to the 1000 block of N Hawthorne Street after heavy smoke was reported coming from the front of the structure.
Engine 4 arrived on the scene, forced entry, and quickly located the fire in the kitchen. Thanks to their swift action, the fire was contained primarily to that area.
Searches of the property confirmed no one was inside, and firefighters brought the blaze under control within minutes.
There were no injuries. Responding units included Engine 4, Engine 5, Ladder 5, Squad 1, Engine 10, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, CPD, EMS, EPB, and CFD Investigations.
