Chattanooga Fire Department responds to Brainerd house fire, no injuries reported
Chattanooga, TN – Residents of a Brainerd home are safe following a fire on Friday afternoon, January 3, 2025. At approximately 2:31 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department’s Red Shift companies responded to the 100 block of S Moore Road after 911 received reports of smoke in the structure coming from the dryer.
The occupants of the home evacuated the premises after calling 911, and emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene.
Squad 13 made an aggressive attack on the fire, which had originated in the laundry area, and was able to bring it under control swiftly. Other firefighting units assisted in extinguishing the flames and ensuring the safety of the home.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The Chattanooga Fire Department’s response included Squad 13, Ladder 13, Engine 15, Ladder 5, Engine 5, Squad 1, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2. The American Red Cross will assist the affected residents.
The fire is under investigation, and the cause of the incident remains under review. The Chattanooga Fire Department reminds residents to ensure that appliances, such as dryers, are properly maintained to help prevent potential fires.
