Chattanooga, TN — This week, trench rescue instructors from the Chattanooga Fire Department traveled to Howell, Michigan, to participate in the Advanced Trench Rescue Shoring Symposium.

The event, hosted by the Michigan Urban Search and Rescue Training Foundation at the Operating Engineers Local 324, offers cutting-edge training on geotechnical engineering and shoring techniques for complex trench rescue operations.

Captain David Bishop, Lieutenant Clint Montgomery, Senior Firefighter Daniel Hall, and Senior Firefighter Tyler Hansen are attending the symposium to enhance their skills.

The instructors plan to bring the latest knowledge back to Chattanooga to share with the city’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team.

The department also extended thanks to Lt. Montgomery for providing photos from the event.
