Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga firefighters successfully executed a high-angle rescue Thursday morning after a worker was injured while servicing an HVAC system on the roof of a senior living facility.

At 8:58 AM on May 22, 2025, Red Shift companies were dispatched to Signal Mountain Senior Living, located at 1005 Mountain Creek Road. The worker had reportedly lost traction and fallen into a precarious position on the roof, prompting a complex extrication operation.

Firefighters stabilized the patient using a Stokes Basket and initiated a rope system to conduct a high-angle rescue. Engine 17’s aerial apparatus was utilized to lift and lower the basket from the roof to the ground, where Hamilton County EMS was standing by to transport the patient to the hospital.

Multiple Chattanooga Fire Department units responded to the scene, including Engine 17, Squad 1, Squad 20, Engine 1, Battalion 3, and the Special Operations Division. Their coordinated effort ensured the safe and efficient removal of the injured worker from a challenging location.
