Chattanooga officers join 800-mile ride to honor fallen law enforcement in journey to Washington, D.C.
Chattanooga, TN – On Monday, May 5, five officers from the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) began an 800-mile cycling journey from Ross’s Landing to Washington, D.C., as part of the 2025 Law Enforcement United (LEU) Road to Hope ride.
The annual event honors law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and supports the families they leave behind.
The CPD team is joined by twenty riders from other agencies and is supported along the route by three CPD Motor Unit officers, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and motor units from Tucson, Arizona.
Virginia State Police will provide additional support once the riders cross into that state.
The Chattanooga team has raised over $17,000 to support Law Enforcement United’s mission.
After departing Chattanooga, the cyclists will travel to Roanoke, Virginia, to join other LEU riders before continuing to Washington, D.C., for National Police Week.
This route is considered one of the most challenging in the LEU program due to its distance and elevation gain.
The CPD will provide updates on the team’s journey through its social media channels.
