Chattanooga, TN — The Chattanooga Police Department’s DUI Unit joined the national Operation Dry Water campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of boating under the influence.
In Tennessee, operating a boat with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher is illegal, similar to driving a car while intoxicated.
As the holiday weekend approaches, officers urge boaters and drivers alike to stay safe by designating sober operators both on the water and on the road.
The campaign aims to reduce alcohol-related accidents and promote responsible recreation throughout the summer season.
