Chattanooga, TN – The City of Chattanooga’s Department of Community Development is preparing to launch the pilot phase of the East Lake Community Center Resource Hub, a new initiative aimed at expanding coordinated, neighborhood-based services for residents.

City officials announced that the East Lake Community Center will become the city’s first Community Resource Hub, marking what leaders describe as a major investment in strengthening access to essential services at the neighborhood level. The model is designed to serve as a trusted community anchor, bringing together health and wellness resources, education and workforce development opportunities, community services, and recreational programming within a single, welcoming space.

The pilot launch is scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the East Lake Community Center, located at 3601 Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga. City leadership, representatives from the Department of Community Development, community partners, and neighborhood residents are expected to attend.

According to the city, the Community Resource Hub concept focuses on improving coordination among service providers while making it easier for residents to connect with programs that support overall well-being and economic stability. By housing multiple resources under one roof, officials hope to reduce barriers to access and create a centralized location where residents can seek assistance, information, and opportunities close to home.

During the event, attendees will be offered a live demonstration and guided tour of the facility, along with a preview of project signage renderings. Elected officials and community leaders will also be present to discuss the vision behind the initiative and its role in future neighborhood investments across Chattanooga.

City officials indicated that the East Lake site is intended to serve as a pilot for similar hubs in other neighborhoods, depending on the success of the initial phase. The program reflects a broader strategy to deliver services in a more community-centered and collaborative way, while fostering stronger connections between residents and local organizations.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend and may RSVP in advance. Interview opportunities will be available with city leaders and project partners during the event.
