Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department recently hosted representatives from the National Policing Institute (NPI), an independent research and training organization focused on advancing law enforcement practices.

During the visit, NPI representatives met with several specialized units within the department, including supervisors from the Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), the Gun Team, and homicide investigators.

The meetings centered on the department’s work and recent progress in intelligence-led policing, gun crime investigations, and homicide clearance efforts.

Officials said the visit provided an opportunity for NPI to observe CPD’s strategies and operational approaches.

Information gathered during the visit is expected to contribute to the development of best practices that may be shared with law enforcement agencies across the country.
