Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Police Officer Casavant had the opportunity to engage with young students during a career day event at Big Ridge Elementary on the morning of March 28, 2025. Officer Casavant shared insights into the responsibilities of a police officer, offering a hands-on experience that allowed the students to learn about law enforcement in a fun and interactive way.

Throughout the event, Officer Casavant demonstrated various aspects of police work, including fingerprinting techniques, allowing students to try their hand at the process. The children were also given the chance to wear a police vest, giving them a firsthand experience of what it’s like to be equipped for duty.

“It’s always a pleasure to connect with our community’s young minds,” said Officer Casavant. “Being able to show them what we do and inspire their curiosity about law enforcement is something I truly enjoy.”

The career day event at Big Ridge Elementary is just one example of the Chattanooga Police Department’s ongoing efforts to build strong relationships with the community, particularly with its younger members. By participating in events like these, officers can help foster a better understanding of their role in the community and perhaps even inspire future law enforcement professionals.

This interaction not only provided educational value to the students but also helped strengthen the bond between the Chattanooga Police Department and the local community.
