California – The family of 11-year-old California girl is calling for justice after their child was allegedly forced to ducct tape her own mouth by a security guard at BIair MiddIe SchooI. The 6th-grade student, Noemy, was reportedly punished for talking too much during lunch last week. The family is outraged and demanding accountability for the actions of the school staff involved.
According to the child’s father, Rikardo, the incident began when his daughter was eating lunch with friends and was allegedly told by a female security guard to quiet down. After continuing to talk, the security guard took the child to the principal’s office and allegedly instructed her to put ducct tape over her mouth. The guard then reportedly escorted the child around the school with her mouth taped shut, further humiIiating her by walking her through the campus and even to a nearby high school, KTLA5 reported.
The outraged parent expressed his shock, saying, “Our daughter was humiliated in front of her classmates. No child should go through something like this.” The student’s distress continued when she was brought to her next class. She reportedly told the teacher not to remove the tape because the guard had instructed her not to speak. The head of security at the school, JuIio, witnessed the incident and intervened, removing the childfrom the class and reassuring her that she was not in trouble.
The principal, Ami, confirmed that the incident occurred and stated that the security guard involved had been fired. The School District issued a statement expressing its commitment to student safety and cooperation with the local police department.
The child’s family filed a police report, and they are now seeking legal action against the security guard. They are demanding answers and greater accountability for the actions of school staff. Civil rights activist Naje AIi, who is supporting the family, emphasized the importance of protecting children in educational environments and called for better training for school security staff to prevent future incidents, EW reported.
