Tennessee – A Tennessee man, 19-year-old CharIes, is currently in custody at the county jail facing multiple serious charges, including attempted second-degree murder, aggravated kldnapping, tampering with evidence, and theft. These charges stem from a vioIent incident that occurred early on Sunday morning.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., a detective conducted a welfare check at the victim’s residence in Tennessee. Upon entering the home, the officer discovered a man in the bathroom, without cIothes and suffering from severe head injuries. The victim was immediately transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma and other serious injuries. Additionally, a 3-year-old child and a vehicle were reported missing from the residence.

Tennessee authorities later located the missing vehicle, finding the defendant, the child, and an unidentified woman inside. The child was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, and no injuries were reported.

During questioning, the defnedant admitted to the assault. He stated that he had been asked by the child’s mother to pick up the child. Police said the defendant allegedly told them that the child’s mother had called him from jail and instructed him to get the child from the home. However, the mother later denied ever communicating with the defendant or authorizing him to take her child. Police said that the child’s mother and the alleged victim were the legal guardians of the child.

The defendant claimed that upon arriving at the residence, he engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. He described slamming the victim to the ground, striking him multiple times in the face, and using a toiIet pIunger to beat him, even inserting the plunger into the victim’s mouth. The defendant further admitted to dragging the victim into the bathroom, stripping him of his cIothes, and pouring bIeach on his wounds.

The severity of the victim’s injuries and the circumstances surrounding the assault have prompted Tennessee authorities to pursue the serious charges against the young man. The investigation is ongoing, and he remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
