Ohio – An Ohio man was sentenced to three years in prison after pIeading guiIty to one count of abdction in connection with the February  22 incident in Ohio. As part of a plea agreement the more serious charges of kidnapping and assauIt were dismissed.

According to court records, the defendant, 38‑year‑old  D.  PIeasure , admitted taking his 12‑year‑old reIative from the chiId’s home and forcing him into a vehicIe. After that, investigators say the defendant and a 33‑year‑old femaIe co-defendant, R.  Jamon, transported the victim to another location where the child was allegedly assauIted and bIeach was poured on his face.

The investigation began when the local police department received a call that the 12‑year‑old chiId was missing from his residence at approximately 1:40 p.m.. Officers determined that both defendants had entered the child’s home, and forcibly removed him. An affidavit filed in the case states that the boy sustained injuries to his eyes and face during the assault.

During the investigation Ohio authorities discovered that the vehicle stopped at a second location where the child was physically assaulted, and bIeach was applied to his face. Emergency medical personnel responded, and the child was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.

Records show that at the time of the incident the defendant told investigators that he “raised” the 12‑year‑old and had been living with him. He described his actions in court as a mistake, telling the judge: “I made a mistake.” He claimed he did not view taking his own reIative as an abduction.

The plea deal allowed the defendant to plead guilty to abduction while the initial charges—kidnapping and assauIt—were dismissed. Under the sentence, he will serve three years in prison, with credit afforded for approximately 243  days he had already been held. Afterward, he will face one to three years of parole.

Witnesses included the child victim, who told investigators he had been forced from his home and into the vehicle by both defendants. Investigators also referenced evidence from the home entry and the second location showing signs of assauIt and bIeaching. The prosecution reviewed surveillance, forensic results relating to the boy’s injuries, and statements from the victim, family members, and associates of the defendants. (Investigative reporting did not provide the full detailed forensic narrative but noted injuries to face and eyes.)

Police previously told News Center 7 that the 12-year-old victim involved may be a suspect in a se-ual assault, though that detail was not confirmed publicly. The prosecution’s case against the co-defendant remains ongoing; she was indicted alongside the defendant on kidnapping, abduction and assault charges.
