Tennessee – Motorists traveling on Interstate 275 should prepare for intermittent lane closures beginning Tuesday evening as road crews perform pavement work near two bridges.

Starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, both northbound and southbound lanes of I-275 will be subject to nightly lane closures at the bridge over Elm Street and Bernard Avenue. The closures are expected to remain in place through 6 a.m. on Friday, August 1.

The planned work is part of ongoing pavement improvements at the ends of the bridge structures. According to officials, the construction schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Drivers are urged to expect delays, reduce speed, and exercise caution while traveling through the construction zone, as workers will be present during overnight hours.

For the latest travel information and updates on the I-275 bridge replacement project, motorists are encouraged to check the TDOT SmartWay map or dial 511 before heading out.
