Tennessee – Beginning Monday, July 28, 2025, Norfolk Southern will close a portion of SR 58 (Alton Park Boulevard) near 31st Street for railroad crossing maintenance.
The closure is expected to last approximately 10 days and may be rescheduled depending on weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is advising drivers to remain alert in the area and to seek alternate routes where possible. The maintenance work will temporarily affect traffic flow along a key corridor and could cause delays.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead by using TDOT’s SmartWay Map or dialing 511 for real-time travel information. Drivers are also reminded not to text, tweet, or talk on the phone while driving, and to obey Tennessee’s Move Over Law, which requires motorists to move over for highway workers and emergency vehicles. Failure to comply can result in fines or jail time.
