Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire Department crews saved several pets during a duplex fire early Wednesday morning.
At 1:07 a.m. on January 29, Blue Shift companies responded to the 1900 block of Rawlings Street after neighbors reported smelling smoke and hearing popping noises.
The residents were not home at the time, but firefighters forced entry and quickly extinguished a fire in a back bedroom, preventing it from spreading beyond the room of origin.
Crews rescued several cats and guinea pigs.
Three adults and a minor were displaced and will receive assistance from the American Red Cross.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
