Indianapolis, IN – A 46-year-old Indiana man, who was intoxicated and was throwing things inside the family home, pulled out a gun and shot two of his close family members before turning the weapon on him and taking his own life. The fatal incident occurred last week at the family’s residence near Chicago. The 45-year-old man, CharIes, killed himself right after he shot to death his partner, 46-year-old Brandi, and seriously injured their 21-year-old daughter HayIeigh.

The investigation process began after the 21-year-old woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that her ‘parent was highly intoxicated and was throwing things in their home’. While on the phone with the dispatcher, the 45-year-old man can be heard saying that ‘everyone will die’ before several gunshots were heard. The responding officers also stated that they heard gunshots right before they entered the family home. The responding officers found three victims, two of them were pronounced dead and the 21-year-old was still alive, but seriously injured.

The woman reportedly told the responding officers that her parent pulled out a gun and threatened her mom and her with the weapon. The woman was rushed to the hospital where she remains in critical, but stable condition. Her parents were both pronounced dead at the scene. The mother suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the father suffered self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities released a statement, saying that the 21-year-old woman couldn’t tell why her dad shot her and her mom before shooting himself.

The victim’s family launched an online fundraiser to raise money for funeral expenses and funds for the parents’ two children, the 21-year-old and her sibling Ethan.  The fundraiser also stated that the victim’s daughter was shot several times and is currently in the ICU in critical but stable condition. The fundraiser’s description says things will be harder than ever for the kids now on account of their mother being so heavily involved in their lives. The 46-year-old victim, Brandi,  had praised her husband for supporting her during her darkest moments, even after she went through a cancer battle and dozen rounds of chemotherapy.

“Unfortunately, Brandi was taken from us way too soon in a senseless act of domestic violence that none of us will ever be able to comprehend or recover from. Our hearts are broken, and we will forever have a hole in our hearts. Now her daughter has the fight of her life ahead of her. HayIeigh was also involved and struck three times and is currently in the ICU in critical but stable condition. We are hopeful that HayIeigh will make a solid recovery but has a very long road ahead of her. We know everyone is concerned about her and wants to know how she is, but please respect her privacy. The hospital said they were receiving calls and can give out zero information to anyone that is not listed in her file,” the fundraiser stated.
