Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department arrested 30-year-old Tonya Liveley in connection with a child abuse investigation at a daycare facility.

The investigation stemmed from an incident that occurred at the Primrose School of East Brainerd on January 8, 2025.

The Special Victims Unit Investigator presented the facts of the case to the Hamilton County Grand Jury, which subsequently indicted Liveley for one count of Felony Child Abuse.

On February 24, the Chattanooga Police Department, in collaboration with the Red Bank Police Department, located Liveley. She was arrested by the Red Bank Police and transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

The incident involved a video shared by various media outlets, which appeared to show a caregiver patting a child on the back while the child lay on a cot.

The video also showed the caregiver pushing the child’s head down toward the cot.

Following the incident, the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services contacted the CPD on January 24 to file a police report, prompting the ongoing investigation by the Special Victims Unit.
