Tennessee Department of Correction announces rapid hiring event at the Knoxville Day Reporting Center on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7
Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, the Tennessee Department of Correction announced a rapid hiring event at the Knoxville Day Reporting Center on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. The event is aimed at individuals interested in pursuing careers as correctional officers or correctional counselors at the Morgan County Correctional Complex.
Qualified candidates can complete interviews and pre-employment steps during the event, with the potential to receive a conditional job offer on the same day. Starting salaries for correctional officers are $44,520, increasing to $46,752 after one year of service, while correctional counselors start at $43,140. Additionally, new correctional officers will receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
New hires will also benefit from a comprehensive package including health, life, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and college tuition assistance. Correctional officers undergo six weeks of paid Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at the Tennessee Correction Academy, which combines hands-on facility experience and classroom instruction.
The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Knoxville Day Reporting Center, located at 8417 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
