Chattanooga, TN – An operation conducted by Chattanooga Police Department’s Gun Team on January 3, 2025, led to the arrests of two repeat offenders, including one out on bond for multiple charges, such as second-degree murder and auto theft.

Gun Team investigators conducted a traffic stop on an individual who had previously fled an attempted stop on New Year’s Eve.

During the stop, officers discovered a firearm equipped with a machine gun conversion device (MCD), a prohibited item under federal law that allows a firearm to function as fully automatic. A scale with narcotic residue was also found, prompting investigators to obtain a search warrant for a residence.

The subsequent search, carried out with assistance from CPD Narcotics and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered additional contraband, including two more MCDs, a rifle, fentanyl, a device for duplicating key FOBs, and a tool used to break into vehicles.

The suspects, 18-year-old Luke Gladden and 21-year-old Tommetric Reed, were transported to Hamilton County Jail on various weapons and drug charges. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
