CFD crews responded to structure fire near Missionary Ridge, no injuries reported
Chattanooga, TN – On Friday afternoon, January 24, 2025, a two-alarm fire heavily damaged a duplex near Missionary Ridge.
Firefighters from the Chattanooga Fire Department responded at 4:36 PM to the 3200 block of Rosemont Drive after reports came in that flames were coming from the structure. The residents arrived home to find the fire.
Initial efforts focused on attacking the fire, which was affecting both the first and second stories. However, downed live power lines created a hazardous situation, prompting crews to shift to defensive operations.
After making progress, firefighters reentered the building but were forced to evacuate again due to a partial collapse of the front porch. Aerial master streams and heavy equipment were used to bring the fire under control.
All residents safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents, and the Chattanooga Fire Department is grateful for the support of mutual aid partners who provided coverage during the operation. The department remained on the scene for several hours.
