City of Chattanooga and UTC to showcase SMART Grant technology for public safety
Chattanooga, TN – The City of Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Research Institute will host a media demonstration on Monday, July 28, highlighting new technology funded through a $2 million U.S. Department of Transportation SMART Grant.
The event will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the MLK Smart Corridor, at the corner of MLK Boulevard and Peeples Street. Parking is available at UTC Lot 49, located at 701 E MLK Blvd.
The demonstration will focus on connected mobility and smart infrastructure designed to improve public safety.
City and university leaders, along with members of the SMART Grant technical team, will be on site to discuss and demonstrate the initiative’s goals and progress.
Participants include Mayor Tim Kelly, UTC Chancellor Lori Mann Bruce, UTCRI Executive Director Mina Sartipi, and technical leads from the SMART Grant team.
This event reflects Chattanooga’s leadership in deploying innovative transportation technologies and building safer, more connected communities.
