TDOT launches third patch in Nobody Trashes Tennessee youth program
Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Nobody Trashes Tennessee (NTT) campaign has introduced the third patch in its scouting and youth patch series, aimed at promoting litter prevention and community cleanup efforts.
Launched in 2023, the Patch Program provides educational resources and recognizes scouts and other youth groups that participate in community litter cleanups or organize their own cleanup events. The newest Rocco the Raccoon patch is awarded to participants completing their third cleanup, joining the Nobody Trashes Tennessee logo patch for a first cleanup and the Trashsquatch patch for a second cleanup.
The patch release comes ahead of the 5th Annual No Trash November initiative, which seeks to remove at least 75,000 pounds of litter from Tennessee’s roadways and waterways. Last year, more than 2,400 volunteers, including scouts and youth groups, took part in over 175 cleanup events, collecting 69,000 pounds of litter.
All three Girl Scout councils and all six Scouting America councils in Tennessee participate in the program, which is open to all youth organizations statewide. Patches are provided at no cost to participants who complete cleanup service projects.
